Description

Cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, now disused. Comprised of banded shaft, fluted neck and cap with finial. The spout has foliated decoration where it meets the neck. Recessed back from the road with semi-circular-plan stone wall.

Appraisal

The artistic detailing including the fluting, banding and foliate decoration add a visual interest to this modest utilitarian object. Located to the west of the village, it once acted as a communal water source for the village of Keadew.
