Freestanding cylindrical cast-iron pillar-box, erected c.1885, with moulded neck with POST OFFICE in raised lettering, domed cap with fluted edge and royal insignia of Victoria to door. Sited at The Crescent at junction of streets.
This cast-iron post box, made during the reign of Queen Victoria, is simple in design with decorative detailing on the cap. The high relief casting of the lettering add an artistic element to this functional object.
