Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1860, now disused. Comprising cylindrical shaft with raised horizontal banding, fluted upper section with spout, head and fluted domed cap with finial. Cow tail style handle. Pump bounded on three sides by curving stone wall and set opposite main junction into Mount Talbot.
This water pump, surrounded on three sides by a curving stone wall, is an important piece of street furniture within Mount Talbot. The pump was once an integral part of the community's historic fabric, being a communal water source for those in the locality. Today the pump continues to be an attractive object with its fluted detailing and cow tail style handle.
