Detached six-bay single-storey house, built c.1820, with disused pubfront. Pitched thatched roof with rendered chimneystacks. Rendered walls. Timber sash windows with stucco surrounds, stone sills and cast-iron window guards. Timber battened door with tiled step serving living quarters. Pubfront comprising a fixed pane window and timber battened double doors. House fronts onto street.
This thatched house is an example of the vernacular building tradition. Utilising traditional local materials, thatched structures were once a common feature in Ireland but are becoming increasingly rare.
