Description

Detached three-bay single-storey stone former toilet block, built c. 1910, now disused. Pitched slate roof, continuous painted timber louvred ventilation lantern to ridge, ashlar limestone verges with corbelled springers, canted brick eaves course. Uncoursed squared rock-faced ashlar limestone walling, red brick quoins. Square-headed window openings, brick surrounds, limestone sills, painted two-over-two timber sash windows, painted timber casement windows to south gable. Square-headed door opening, brick jambs, painted timber vertically-sheeted door. Set in yard to west of main school, metal railings set rock-faced ashlar walls to north-east and south-west.

Appraisal

The rock-faced limestone walling to this little toilet block contrasts pleasingly with the red brick dressings. Although hidden away it forms an integral part of the school layout.
