Single-span stone railway-over-road bridge, built c. 1860. Squared-and-snecked rock-faced ashlar limestone walling returning as battered abutments to east and west sides. Round-headed archway, rock-faced voussoirs, tooled ashlar soffit. Two horizontal steel rails form balustrade in lieu of parapet. Carries railway line between Collooney and Sligo. Road with footpath to south passes under.
This robustly constructed bridge demonstrates good quality masonry typical of railway construction in the latter half of the nineteenth century. It continues to fulfil its original function in the twenty-first century.
