Single-span road-over-railway limestone bridge, built c. 1875. Symmetrical on plan about a north-south axis with flanking steps from road down to either side of track on north side. Squared-and-snecked rubble limestone walling rising uninterrupted to parapets and battered to either side of arch, rock-faced copings to upper flight of steps and to parapets. Elliptical arch over track, rock-faced ashlar limestone voussoirs. Concrete steps, painted steel balustrading c. 1995 to track side. Spanning east-west, twin carriageway bitmac road, concrete pavements with concrete kerbs to both sides.
This simple railway bridge is substantially unaltered and is a pleasing symmetrical composition utilising natural stone which relates well to the contemporaneous railway station to the north.
