Operating mechanism missing. Mounted in west side of uncoursed limestone wall on platform of railway station.

Appraisal

This drinking fountain is an attractive example of cast-iron street furniture. The inscription is unusual and the swallow details and other embellishments display skilled craftsmanship. It is one of those little details that make a place special and, as such, makes a considerable contribution to both the railway station and the town.
