Detached five-bay single-storey stone forge, built c. 1830. Rectangular plan in three sections one for shoeing horses, one for forging, and one for storage. Pitched roof missing entirely, brick chimneystacks with stepped capping. Squared and coursed rubble limestone walling, tooled ashlar quoins. Square-headed window openings, tooled ashlar jambs and voussoirs, remnants of side-hung multi-paned timber casement windows. Square-headed door openings, tooled ashlar jambs and voussoirs, remnants of vertically-sheeted timber doors. Set back from road to north.
This, now abandoned, forge is of technological and historic significance as it must have served all the blacksmithing needs of a major demesne. The original forges remain in the interior.
