Attached three-bay single-storey former railway goods shed, built 1862-3, renovated and extended to the side and rear in c.2000, connecting to former station. Now in office use. Pitched replacement slate roof with overhanging eaves to road, replacement bargeboards at gables, recent rooflights to yard side and replacement rainwater goods. Squared rubble limestone walls with two dressed stone piers to street front between square-headed door openings with timber heads and segmental relieving arches now infilled to form windows with fairfaced blockwork. Circular windows to west elevation with dressed stone voussoir surrounds, high level semi-circular windows to end gables, all with uPVC multiple-pane windows.
An mid-nineteenth century former goods shed formerly part of Cavan Railway Station which closed by 1960. The detailing of stonework and window openings enliven the otherwise utilitarian building. It forms part of a group with the other site buildings that contributes to the industrial heritage of Co. Cavan and part of the extensive railway network that developed across Ireland in the nineteenth century.
