The simple raised lettering and crown motif of which adds artistic interest to its functional form. Cast-iron post boxes are becoming increasing rare throughout Ireland, often being replaced with mass-produced plastic boxes. It is set in the gable of an end of terrace house at the Erne Bridge facing south-west and adds to the historic fabric of the western part of the town.
