Attached two-bay two-storey over basement level (to rear) house, built c. 1860. One of a terrace along with its neighbours to either side. Pitched fibre-cement tiled roof with red brick chimneystack to south gable end having red brick stringcourse, rendered coping, terracotta pots; cast-iron rainwater goods. Smooth rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with rendered architrave surrounds, one-over-one pane horned timber sliding sash windows, and painted concrete sills. Square-headed door opening with rendered architrave surround, plinth blocks, and timber panelled door. Fronts directly onto street, located to west side of Malin Street to north-west of Moville town centre.
This modest terraced house, of mid-to-late nineteenth-century date, retains its early form and character. Its integrity and visual appeal is enhanced by the retention of salient fabric such as the timber sliding sash windows and the timber door with bolection mouldings. The loss of the natural slate roof, although regrettable, fails to detract substantially from its appeal. The simple front elevation is enlivened by the render architraved surrounds to the openings, which help add some interest to this otherwise plain and functional structure. This building is of a type that was, until recent years, a ubiquitous feature of the streetscapes of small Irish towns and villages but are now becoming increasingly rare survivals. This building is the best surviving example along a group of buildings of a similar form and date, and it makes a positive contribution to the streetscape to the north-west of the centre of Moville.
