Description

Single-arch bridge, built c.1860, crossing Abhainn Choradh [Owencarrow River] and possibly incorporating fabric from earlier structure. Coursed rubble stone walls and parapets with flat rendered and field-stone copings. Segmental arch with large field-stone voussoirs, gunnelled soffit, and flanked by two splayed abutments to northwest elevation.

Appraisal

An attractive bridge that represents a good example of nineteenth-century engineering. Its large segmental arch remains intact and is a testament to the skills of the builders. It forms a visually pleasing composition in the landscape.
