Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1860, having lean-to windbreak entrance, and extensions to rear. Pitched thatched roof with mesh over, tied to stone and metal pegs built into walls, with three rendered chimneystacks; flat felt roof to extensions. Rendered walls with square-headed openings, windows possibly enlarged, with painted concrete sills and replacement timber windows and door. Single-storey rubble stone outbuildings to rear with pitched and lean-to corrugated-iron roofs and rendered and painted walls.
This house is typical of the vernacular architecture of Dún na nGall [County Donegal]. The survival of its thatched roof, which employs the roped thatch method, is significant, and the windbreak entrance and low chimneystacks are also characteristic of this mode of architecture. The accompanying outbuildings are integral to the setting.
