Lych gate to graveyard, dated 1892, comprising rectangular-plan structure of square-plan timber posts atop concrete plinth, supporting timber king-post roof with chamfered corners to structural members, pitched tiled roof with pointed timber finials and carved timber bargeboards with quotation from bible and date '1892'. Double-leaf wrought-iron gate to road end of structure with dressed square-plan piers having rounded caps, and with stile to north side. Lych gate gives access to rectangular-plan graveyard, walls of which are of rubble limestone with rock-faced coping stones. Yew avenue to interior, and square-plan carved limestone monument of c.1905 to Whitsitt family, latter having marble urn to top and inscribed marble plaque to front.
This one of only a small number of lych gates in Ireland. Its timber structure is enhanced by chamfered edges to the timbers, and the biblical quotation to the bargeboards. It forms an attractive entrance to the graveyard. The carved limestone and marble to the Whitsitt family adds further interest to the site.
