Freestanding rectangular-plan mausoleum, dated 1803, with additional dedication of 1806. Roughly coursed squared sandstone walls with dressed sandstone quoins. Gauged tooled sandstone round-arch openings to south elevation, having inset inscribed sandstone plaques. Gauged tooled sandstone square-headed voussoirs, masonry slabs with inset cast-iron rings to ground to front.
This mausoleum, the final resting place of members of the local Mitchell family, is well-executed, with tooled stonework to the arches and inscribed slabs of stone to the front contrasting with the simple coursed rubble stone walls. It forms a component part of an ecclesiastical group, located adjacent to Saint Davnet's Church, within its graveyard. The inscriptions provide artistic as well as contextual interest, the disjointed arrangement of the sentences adding a sense of archaic language and perhaps suggesting that the scribe was illiterate. The mausoleum makes a strong contribution to this site.
