Appraisal

Typically of demesne architecture, this site entrance shows skilled craftsmanship and careful design. One of the many notable features associated with the Dawson Grove/Dartrey House demesne, this entrance contextualises and enhances the church and graveyard and provides a sense of anticipation. The cut and carved stone piers create an imposing entrance, and make a notable feature on the roadside.
