Detached seven-bay two-storey flat-roofed house, extant 1950, on an elongated cruciform plan with single-bay two-storey projecting bays. Renovated, 2010. Flat roof centred on lantern with integrated rainwater goods on overhanging eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Replacement rendered mass concrete walls. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement fittings. Set in landscaped grounds with rendered piers to perimeter having stepped capping supporting galvanised steel double gates.
A house representing an important component of the mid twentieth-century domestic built heritage of south County Dublin with the architectural value of the composition, one showing the continued development of Knocksinna as a so-called "International Style suburb" (cf. 60230066 - 60230069; 60230071 - 60230073), confirmed by such attributes as the elongated cruciform plan form radiating off a top-lit hall; the sheer surface finish masking an experimental mass concrete construction; the diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated visual impression with some openings giving access on to a cruise liner-like balcony or sun deck; and the slightly oversailing flat roof.
