Freestanding single-bay single-stage barrel-vaulted icehouse, extant 1909, on a rectangular plan. Now disused. Part ivy-covered cement rendered barrel-vaulted roof. Fine roughcast red brick Running bond wall to front (north) elevation. Square-headed door opening with fittings now missing. Interior including vaulted ice store on a circular plan with red brick English bond walls. Set in wooded grounds originally shared with Larch Hill.
An ivy-enveloped icehouse not only surviving as an interesting relic of the Larch Hill estate following the demolition (1972) of the eponymous country house (1835), but also clearly illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate in the later nineteenth century.
