Composition
Bellew lands since 12th century. Very fine intact demesne for present house, which incorporates a medieval tower house and a Georgian house. Landscape park with evidences of a picturesque garden for the 18th century house, possibly by Thomas Wright. House well-positioned in parkland setting to the east side, ornamental gardens to southwest. Fine vistas to east. Walled garden and outbuildings, ornamental garden buildings, woodland and shelter belts. Suffered neglect in the early 20th century, but revived since 1938. http://www.barmeathcastle.com/
