The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage has partnered with Waterford City and County Council to create Wonder Wander Walking Trails. The Wonder Wander Walking Trails have been developed in collaboration with the local communities. In addition to well-known public buildings, each trail shines a light on some of the lesser known architectural details and the stories that are associated with these unique places.
The Wonder Wander for Waterford raises awareness of and an appreciation for the rich built heritage in the Architectural Conservation Area in Waterford. Wander through the streets of the city, stop at a former garage for quadricycles, see a vestige of Waterford’s beloved “Mud Boat”. The eagle-eyed trail hunter will enjoy finding various historic inscriptions and foundry markings dotted along the route.
