Christopher O’Sullivan TD, Minister of State for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity, has announced that 28 built heritage projects are to benefit from €3.5m in funding for conservation-led repairs under the Historic Structures Fund 2025.
Alongside other heritage funding streams, including the Built Heritage Investment Scheme and the recently reopened Conservation Advice Grant Scheme, the Historic Structures Fund aims to conserve, protect and promote the use of historic structures in our cities, towns and villages and in our countryside.
The Historic Structures Fund, which operates on a match-fund basis, promotes the investment of private capital into the conservation and rehabilitation of historic structures. In addition to the €3.5m committed today, it is estimated that grantees will invest a further €7.6m on these projects, which will support the work of traditional craftspeople while bringing 28 of our landmark buildings back to their former glory.
